Magic World Moscow Concept Art.

The concept art below is a quite gorgeous representation of what the proposed Magic World park for Moscow would look like. The park is currently going through feasibility studies so there is guarantee it will ever happen. But I for one really hope the park gets the go ahead. Moscow is seriously lacking a big destination park and this would provide the city with just that.

Sochi Park releases new model and promotional material.

Russia’s brand new Sochi Park is due to begin under construction soon, The park forms part of 2014 Winter Olympics area and the area will host a number of sporting venues, the Olympic Shopping Centre and a proposed Formula One racing track.

The whole project is shown in a brand new model which shows off the whole site (see below) and the park itself has also started showing a video of what the park will look like once finished. To any coaster enthusiasts trained eye the coaster models and video are clearly a bit unrealistic but the park is currently expected to be building at least a Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang and a Mack Launched Coaster.

A recording of the Sochi Park video can be seen below.

Russia to get Vekoma Giant Inverted Boomerang.

It seems the Vekoma GIB is back with vengeance. After its 9 year hiatus a new version of the ride unexpectedly showed up at Jin Jiang Action Park in China earlier this year, Now it seems Vekoma have sold another model to the brand new Sochi Park in Russia. The park is being built for part of the 2014 Winter Olympics and construction work has already begun. The park is expected to open for the 2013 season and will feature 6 themed areas and a 35 rides some of which will be unique to Russia.  The official site is already online (although in limited form) and can be found here.

Below are a few concept and model images I’ve dug up from the web.
