Research and Musings around the amusement park world.
Romon World is one of the most exciting projects in China with two great looking coasters set to open in 2014. The park has shown off a great little model of the whole entertainment area including the mall, hotels and park. The project bears a striking resemblance to Lotte World in South Korea. Below is a series of pictures of the model and a recent picture of the construction site.
The new LocaJoy Holiday park in China has opened. However the park opened before the construction of the Intamin Multi Looper was complete. Below are some picture of the opening and if you look carefully at the picture of the topspin you can see the Intamin going vertical in the background.
The latest wooden coaster in China is the new Fjord Dragon built at the all new Happy Valley in Tianjin, China. The ride is designed by the Gravity Group who previously worked on the rides in Wuhan and Shanghai. The ride looks like it will provide some excellent airtime and it has recently begun testing with it’s recently arrived trains. Pictures below.
While there is still no sign of the Intamin Looper’s arrival at LocaJoy holiday in China a number of other rides are now up and testing. The pictures below show a number of these including the Golden Horse invert and kiddie coasters and a series of flat rides. It should only be a matter of time until the Intamin goes up too, Although I think I said that about Vialand so who knows?
Vialand in Turkey looks like its coming along nicely. They are slowly releasing a series of very nice time-lapse construction videos, the latest edition includes looks at flat ride testing and a new indoor drop tower which was unknown to me until today. Check it out below.
Indians first world class park Adlabs Imagica has opened outside of Mumbai. The park has been covered a fair amount on here and features a nice collection of rides including a Zamperla mine train and Premier launched coaster. The B&M Floorless named Nitro has not opened with the park but it appears track is on site so I assume opening will be later this year. There is a virtual image of Nitro below which confirms it will be a near clone of Batman The Dark Knight over at Six Flags New England just with an extra helix at the end.
Below are a selection of pictures from the opening.
Locajoy Holiday in China was previously known as Chongqing Safari Park and is expected to reopen later this year with at least 3 new roller coasters, These Include an Intamin Multi Looper and two small Golden Horse coasters. Below are some constructions shots which show the work going on around the site but nothing of the three coasters. The parks starting to look pretty good with some nice details and a general safari park feel.
Construction of yet another new park in China is underway in Tianjin. The park promises a state of the art attractions including a large roller coaster (the concept art suggests another SLC) and a number 3D entertainment facilities. The park is due to open in September of this year, there are pictures and concept art below.
Vialand in Istanbul has been featured a lot recently on here and with good reason, The parks Intamin LSM looks likes it could be one of the most interesting coasters in 2013. The park set to open this year still has some way to go though as the site is still mostly mud. The Intamin track is still on site but there’s no sign of vertical construction on the LSM coaster just yet.
Another day and another new park shows up in China. This one is at least a cultural park called the Sun Tribe Tourism Area and features only a few rides. They do however have a new knock/off Moto Coaster called “Bullfight in the Sky” and perhaps the most terrifying King Kong model I have ever seen. The park is situated on South of Beijing and opens soon. Pictures below.
