News In Brief.
There’s always a lot of smaller bits of news I can’t cover in the main posts on here so from now on every so often I shall be doing a News In Brief section. This shall just consist of small items of news that are not worthy yet of their own post.
General
After the success of the Chinese Rip Off Run Down article it has been moved to it’s own page in a similar style to the Chinese SLC Guide. The page can now be accessed from a tab at the top of this page or clicking here.
China
S&S are having a good time in China at the moment and seem to be one of the few companies not to have their products ripped off yet. It has been confirmed the new Happy Valley park in Tianjin will be getting an El Loco and will theme the ride to the popular Angry Birds game. Park World have also reported that S&S will also be opening their 4th launched coaster in China although this time the ride won’t be at a Happy Valley park but the new Shandong Culture Park.
B&M’s new wing coaster at Ocean Kingdom has had its final piece installed and testing is expected to begin shortly. The ride features three inversions and a long winding layout. Construction shots can be seen here.
Chuanlord Holiday Manor is another small park in China getting a coaster in 2013, the coaster is expected to be a double loop double corkscrew model and built by the tongue twisters at Hebei Zhongye Metallurgical Equipment Manufacturing.
Century Amusement Park is expected to be building yet another rip off SLC in 2013, theres no news on manufacturer or which layout but more news on that when it appears.
Iraq
Al Zawra’a Dream Park in Baghdad will be adding a brand new Vekoma SLC in 2013. This will be the first standard SLC model to open Gauntlet opened at Magic Springs in 2004.
India
Dream Park in India has been confirmed to be getting a Zamperla mine train similar to the ride already operating at Ocean Park in Hong Kong. There is still no news on the rumours that the mysterious floorless track currently at the B&M plant in Ohio will also be heading out to India.
